India experienced its wettest month of August in 32 years, with 27% higher than normal rainfall across the country as a whole, and as much as 61% above normal rains in central India. Despite the BCCI categorically stating that it will not compensate the franchises for any 'losses' whatsoever - given the simple logic that these 'losses' are merely relative because of Covid restraints - the franchise sent a detailed presentation to the board, estimating the financial losses per team at Rs 46 crore this season. The said franchise, in fact, yet again raised the question if this cost (read: projected 'losses') will be borne by IPL or entirely by the franchises?

'Black Panther' star Chadwick Boseman dies at 43
Actor Chadwick Boseman, who played Black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as the regal Black Panther in the Marvel cinematic universe, died Friday of cancer, his representative said. He was 43. Boseman died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side. Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family said in a statement.
